Holiday on the ranch & rides

We offer you a week on the farm with a ride package that leaves nothing to be desired. Together with our extremely sure-footed and reliable horses, you will discover the charm of Sardinian nature. Shorter and longer rides are the perfect combination for both trail riding beginners and trekking professionals. The rides go from the flatlands to the mountains, with pine forests, riverbeds, Mediterranean scrub, cactus bushes, wild strawberry trees and broom bushes. All of this with a very special western backdrop with huge granite rock formations and gorges. And of course, You will have a day with a ride on the beach! This weekly program includes four riding days: 1 x 45 min; 1 x 1 hour; 1 x 2 hours; 1 x 4 hours.

Your accommodation is on the ranch, including breakfast (to prepare yourself). The apartments have bedrooms, a kitchenette, a living room, a bathroom, a washing machine, and air conditioning. Your days off invites you to take wonderful walks and countless leisure activities, excursions, and on an island with a crystal-clear sea also unforgettable days on the beach.

 

 

Day 1: Arrival

Day 2: Our first day of riding begins with a 45-minute introductory ride that takes us across a 60-hectare cork oak plantation. You immediately notice how easily our horses not only manage uphill, but also down the steepest paths with confidence. On a dirt road past wild olive trees and Mediterranean macchia, we now go through the thicket on a narrow path with enchanting vegetation and a stream that we cross. We then ride back up through the cork oak plantation to return to the farm.

Day 3: Today our 2-hour ride takes us through the area of ​​”La Silvaredda”. On sandy paths we go through the typical Sardinian nature with Mediterranean macchia, myrtle bushes and cactus bushes. But also, past wild olive and eucalyptus trees. In addition, there is a dreamy background of rocky granite mountains. The riverbed of the Rio Toltu is also crossed. This is particularly beautiful in spring, when everything is in bloom and the Rio is full of water.

Day 4: Day off

Day 5: Always a highlight, the one-hour ride by the sea! With our transfer we will take you to the bay of Cannigione. You will discover the spectacular fauna of seabirds such as the cormorant, the grey heron and in November also the pink flamingos. Experienced riders can expect a wonderful gallop through the water! (Galloping only at low tide – medium tide)

Day 6: This unforgettable four-hour trekking tour takes us through the plain in the hinterland of Macciucatu up to the Monti Ruju Mountain. Over sandy paths that meander through the surrounding Rocky Mountains and the rugged nature of this area. Through pine forests and Mediterranean maquis with myrtle bushes that line the paths. We ride steeply uphill to the highest point, the La Madjone gorge, where a fantastic Wild West scenario and a breathtaking view of the gorge await us! Wild boars, falcons and, with a bit of luck, even eagles are often spotted. From here, we ride down the slope through the canyon until we reach the valley riding home.
